Business Internships
The Business Internship program provides seniors with a semester long opportunity to experience real-world applications of their high tech skills and education at CALC. Thank you to the nearly 40 Martin County businesses who have provided each senior hands-on assignments at their place of business based on the student's areas of interest and career direction. Here is a look at CALC graduates and their Spring 2005 internships.
Kristofer
Deuschle, North Star Geomatics, Stuart, FL

to North Star Vice-President, Frank Veldhius, the CALC
business internship was a win-win situation. Kristofer
demonstrated his technology skills as a GIS Specialist
at a level he would consider employing. North Star is
one of the area's leading computer mapping companies.

Andrew Carden, Galaxy Aviation, Stuart, FL
|
Lineman, Andrew Carden joined the team at Galaxy Aviation for his internship which provided him valuable experience working with aircraft and aviation personnel. It was this experience that sparked his further interest in utilizing his technology skills to research aircraft. Andrew is an aspiring naval pilot.

Amanda Reaver, Mo's Dance Works, Stuart, FL

Amanda is no stranger to the dance studio and community theatre stage. An aspiring costume designer, she was able to work on the studio's website in developing a public presence and apply her digital media creativity.

Eric Wall, Elliot Museum, Stuart, FL
|
A history buff, Eric and the Elliot made a great team. Eric spent his time at the museum researching and cataloging exhibit contents. His meticulous attention to detail and database experience proofed to be a welcome addition to the hundreds of historical facts and figures Eric organized on computer for the staff at the Elliot.

Justin Ellingson, Martin County Supervisor of Elections, Stuart, FL

Intrigued by how government works, Justin was mentored by Supervisor of Elections Vicki Davis in putting together a campaign to get fellow high school students registered to vote. Justin worked with other area high school students in formulating a marketing plan to promote the rights and privileges of voting. A staunch supporter of the CALC business internship experience, Ms. Davis commends and continues this initiative.
